Managing your Mental Health during the Pandemic

Managing the changes in our daily lives during the current pandemic has been a topic very close to the front of my mind.

The biggest impact for us can often be found in the increase in feelings of uncertainty and restriction on how we would usually manage. Social distancing and the measures brought in to protect us physically, have exposed us to unprecedented levels of social isolation, contamination anxiety and fears for the future.

However an increase in anxiety and stress should be viewed as a normal response to what is an extraordinary global crisis. A certain level of anxiety can actually help prepare us for action, but it is also important to be able to access a place of safety in our daily lives to avoid emotional fatigue.

For some, lockdown has brought us closer to our values and the type of life that we seek to balance including less external distractions, more family time, more time at home as a couple, etc....

If this is the case for you, then it could be important to consider now how you carry these positive changes and values forward into the post-lockdown world.
